John found out a few days ago that his article Moral Status in Virtue Ethics was accepted for publication in the journal Philosophy. It may come out as early as July.

For me, it's not just about prestige, but also about making a contribution. Of course, even after you get published, it's not clear that you actually have made a contribution; you have to wait and see if other people take up your ideas and do something with them.
Do they pay you for publishing those articles? I thought it was just prestige in getting published! Getting paid is makes it even sweeter!
